The inaugural competition lineup for First Time Fest boasts a diverse, exciting lineup of directorial debuts from around the world, with a dozen films from countries including Australia, Argentina, Belarus, Belgium, Chile, Israel, and the United States. Submissions were open to feature-length films made with first-time directors, producers, writers, cinematographers, editors, or composers. The festival was created in the hopes of not just discovering new talent, but helping these films find an audience beyond the festival circuit. The grand prize winner, Sal, will receive theatrical distribution, and all of the filmmakers will receive membership in the Players Club, and a year of mentoring from industry professionals. There is tremendous talent on display in these films, and the promise of many great films to come.
